This Mycology Tourism Experience in the Beceite Mountain Passes is the perfect opportunity to blend gastronomy with rural tourism in plain nature.
A half-day excursion to collect the best mushrooms in the area and celebrate afterwards at the table, savouring the flavours of the forest with a a mycology tasting menu.. Sounds inviting, doesn’t it?
Enjoy a rural getaway with family and friends in autumn have a good time breathing fresh air and discovering species of boletus among pine and beech forests, in an idyllic setting for mushrooms, thanks to its high biodiversity.
Starting out from the village of Beceite, we will head to the mountain to identify the most common mushrooms and fungi of the Beceite Mountain Passes. We will collect the species that we will eat this day and identify the varieties that we come across in the field. At noon we will go back to Beceite and prepare a mycological tasting menu in the Restaurante La Fábrica de Solfa.
The Beceite Mountain Passes are a mountain range where we mainly find large forest areas of Pinus Nigra (black pine) and wild pine, also holm oaks and oak groves on its south-western slopes, with special mention of a small beech forest, the Fageda del Retaule on the southern slope. The Spring and Autumn rains are essential to a good mycological season, abundant in species. Although in recent years, due to the climate change, we have had very irregular seasons, in normal conditions we can observe more than 50 different species in this territory. Their knowledge and identification help us to learn a little more about the role they play in the forests.
With the mycology experience package we get closer to a circular economy that we have been practicing for over 20 years now, weaving relationships with the entrepreneurial fabric of the territory that is committed to sustainability. We believe in our land and these experiences are an example, so you may feel part of the preservation efforts of our cultural and natural surroundings.
Our guides and star informers are part of this circular economy and will show you the essence of our territories.
Slow travel experiences to discover the best mycology tourism routes!
