This oleotourism experience introduces us to the olive culture of a territory that is and has been part of its landscape for over a thousand years: the Matarranya region and its surrounding areas.
Most of the olive trees in this territory are of the Empeltre or Aragonese variety and cover most of the regions’ landscape on the right banks of the Ebro River. In recent years some entrepreneurs have committed to the quality of this liquid gold by investing in its processing and marketing, facilitating and favouring the knowledge of the olive culture.
We propose a visit to some of the mills and farms that produce the best olive oils in the area, oil tasting included.
We will start out from Calaceite, so we may comprehend the cultural and historical implications of the oil culture. We will then visit an oil mill to become acquainted with its sustainable project and its oils.
The “Diez Dedos”, “Mas de Flandi” and “Identitat Oil” brands represent three genuine producers, and their goal is to make the best oil of the season, picking still green single-varietal olives to fully preserve the properties of their oil.
With these oleotourism experiences we get closer to a circular economy that we have been practicing for over 20 years now, weaving relationships with the entrepreneurial fabric of the territory that is committed to sustainability. We believe in our land and these experiences are an example, so you may feel part of the preservation efforts of our cultural and natural surroundings.
Our guides and star communicators are part of this very circular economy and will show you the essence of our territories.
¡Slow travel experiences to taste unique olive oils!
