The Val de Zafán Green Route. Cretas – Prat de Comte is a low difficulty cycle tourism activity, ideal for families, friends, couples, students, etc., who wish to discover natural and cultural environments on bike.
It is a self-guided cycling activity (on mountain, conventional or electric bikes) designed to enjoy one of the most spectacular stretches of the Green Route in the Iberian Peninsula, the one going from the Matarranya Region to the Terra Alta.
On this 22 km route downhill you will discover a peaceful cycling track, beautiful mountain scenery, rivers and natural water pools where stopping is a must, with extraordinary views to a land full of stories to be told.
From Cretas to Prat de Comte you will cross 15 tunnels and 5 viaducts between the Algars River, with its bathing area at the Lledó weir, and the Canaletas River, with the bathing area of the Fontcalda, passing by the old train stations of Lledó-Arnes, Horta de Sant Joan and Bot, vestiges of the old railroad that linked Aragon with the Mediterranean Sea and that was in operation for 31 years, being closed definitively in 1973.
This activity will start out from the offices of Matarranya Aventura, in the village of Cretas/Queretes. This is where you will pick up the bicycles and other equipment. We will meet you in the old Prat de Comte train station to pick you up at the end.
PLEASE BOOK AT LEAST 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE!
